Gridlocked
November 18-Friday
All of us at one time or another have heard the expression or have been told to “loosen up” when art creating. Well, we are going to “loosen up” using a structured gridded pattern on a solid wood substrate. Each us will map out our own unique pattern on a prepared textural surface and begin playing and exploring using found object elements, paint, paper and wax, creating a complex yet whimsical piece of art. You will go home with a beautiful work of art and a broad array of techniques that can be adapted to many art applications in this technique/project class. We will learn painting techniques that I use to create my own unique mixed media pieces. Bring your hammer…

Color My World
November 19-Saturday
Step into my world as I lead a class in a not so basic painting class. Each student will be given an ample size canvas/substrate primed, textured and ready to go. We will go over the textural elements behind my painting technique, and then dive into some basic compositions. No drawing experience is required. It's all in the details, artful doodling and smudging required. Collage elements will also be explored and a luminous layer of beewax will be applied over the finished surface.

Home Sweet Home
November 20th-Sunday
We treasure our homes so much. Express your most enduring moments creating a memorable house filled with collage, doodle, found objects and favorite family/pet or other fun images using one of my signature wood house shapes from my personal stash... We will start by creating one house, but if there is time, you can create another one.
House dimensions are 5x21x1 1/2"
