Mixed Media Found Object Cakes

So fun and whimsical!!
You can have your cake and eat it too...
I love going to parties, weddings with beautiful delectable cakes. I'm always a little saddened to see the lovely creations slowly disassembled and eaten. Well.... only for a moment....

While these cakes are not edible they certainly will inspire you to get in the kitchen and whip up something!

Each Cake is constructed of wood, and are about 19" tall apprx. They have multiple layers of
paint, pastel, German glass glitter and gorgeous circa 1800 papers from my personal collection. The Cakes are wonderfully embellished with found objects such as vintage keys, buttons, antique German doll parts, trims; the list goes on.

This sweet gem stands about 16" high and 7" across at the widest point. The top portion of the cake opens up to reveal a little compartment for hiding secret treasures.

Inside tucked away is an old vintage poem, titled 'The CakeWalk'
